Forrest Harper: An eleven-year-old Engish boy who lives in the Tower of London. He helps his father take care of the ravens and their prisoners. He has his own raven named Tuck. His friends are Rat and Maddy
Maddy: A Scottish Rabel's daughter who the Harper's take prisoner. She befriends Forrest.
Tuck: Forrest's pet raven.
Rat: Forrest's best friend. He is an orphan and is a rat cather's apperntice. His real name is Ned.
The Ravenmaster's Secret takes place in the Tower of London, a place that the English kept their prisoners, the Scottish. It is in there that Forrest gets Maddy past the guards and into her home. It's complete with moat (to slow strangers down, not stop them), tons of homes for the villagers, tons of small towers (like the bloody tower, the tallest tower in a overground dungeon) , a wall, and one huge tower.
The climax of the story is when Maddy went out to the crown (king) to decide her fate. Her father and uncle were shot dead on the way, and Maddy's trial has been denied. Forrest wants to save Maddy, before the hangman even has a chance to put the noose around her neck. But there's one question that he has.
The problem was resolved when Maddy is sent back to her home, with Ned along with her. Forrest lives a peaceful life then on, and he gets the spyglass back from Ned years later, when he has made a life probably in Maddy's home
I feel that one lesson of the book, The Ravenmaster’s Secret, is that even if you don’t like someone, everyone has meaning no matter how different he or she might be. In the book they are going to kill the Scots for something they never had done. I think that is wrong because the English don’t have any proof of the Scots doing anything bad.I think the author's message was do not judge people of there blood ,but of who they are deep within.
